City of Hathera

Description

What a figure Takao had cut when walking up to the fifty-foot high arched gate into the city of the Dawei, Hathera. He had to grin now to remember it, his first sight of the snow, here in abundance. Iosa, in Shier's tongue. He had seen it before, on the peaks of distant mountains, but he had never experienced it. Shier laughed at seeing his aversion at first, his head and eyes weaving around as if the wet flakes were shards of glass seeking to blind him. He called them faerie-crystals, the first words to describe what he saw. The intricate feathers of ice that fell from the sky were awe-inspiring. He felt as though he could sit on the massive stone blocks and watch them for hours. And though it was cold there, the likes which he had never experienced before, he found himself enjoying it, for it was unlike any other place that he had ever been. The Akimen smiled out at the snow, far more pleased with himself than sad. He'd been sad all week since his fall and revelation that he was to be used by His Shadow. This sadness was kept deep in his heart, and he still was sad now, with the night newly fallen and the snow coming in full baskets from the heavens. But he had only to think upon Shier and the sadness lifted like a morning fog struck by the sun.

Once more my friends, another image from Amidror. Hathera, city of the Dawei, otherwise labeled as the High Elves of the world. Only a couple days spared in the making, but it turned out well enough. Not as ... messy as Marwater but that kinda gives it a different style. And that works methinks. The elves spend decades perfecting their craft, and for their cities they had no shortages of artisans and builders to make marvels out of their towers and walls high in the mountains.

Huzzad and enjoy!

Wow this looks like it was hard to draw

What looks best in this drawing is more the snow than anything else in my oppinion. It really gives the drawing an intense atmosphere. The blue crystals or lanterns on the stairs and gate are a good addition to the colours.
I wish the buuilding was a bit brighter then one could see more of the architecture.
The sky looks awesome, another good idea to get more different colours in the drawing. It enhances the darker colours though but it fits the atmosphere very well.
I hope Takao finds what he seeks in this town.
